    • Rigid whiteboard with dry-wipe sleeve to support the exploration of place value.
    • A dry wipe pen can be used on the board to enter numbers into the windows, and can also be used on the sleeve to add place value headings, and a decimal point/comma when necessary.
    • The slider gives a better understanding of place value with whole numbers and decimals and is the perfect resource for addressing misconceptions, particularly the effect of multiplying and dividing by the powers of ten.

  • PARTITIONING TREE

    • Shake the tree and ten apples are split into two collecting tubes, marked with a scale of 1 to 10
    • The front of the tree only displays the contents of one tube and children are invited to work out how many are in the hidden tube
    • On the other side of the tree, both quantities are displayed so that children can check to see if they were right!
    • ‘Apples’ can be removed so that other number bonds can be practised

    1. Choose the quantity of balls you want to use (up to 20) and ‘lock’ the others away out of view in the third compartment, or remove them completely if you wish to use all three compartments.
    2. Choose whether you wish to split the balls into two or three sections.
