Mathematics Training

Our primary maths consultants provide training to schools and LAs across the country on various aspects of primary mathematics. We have become particularly well known for our courses in the Dutch approach to teaching number and calculation using the beaded images and number lines and have helped many schools to develop a consistent approach to the teaching of calculation. Such has been the demand that we are now intending to run our most popular courses in different parts of the country: In the coming year these courses will focus on : • Jumping Ahead – using number lines and bead strings • Developing a whole school approach to the teaching of calculation • Mathematical Story-Sacks • Teaching mathematics in Reception • Making every lesson a problem solving lesson • Challenging the more able It is also possible for us to provide training for clusters of schools, LAs, and conferences – please contact us for further details.
